GGAG’s state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. facility that comprises of separate units for its gear and forging production, has expanded to accommodate new equipment and technology in gear & forged component manufacturing.

Gear Division

Turning

GGAG uses a range of CNC and conventional machines in order to machine its blanks of up to 1600 mm OD. Our turning set up consists of the following facilities:
Vertical Turning and Machining Centers
Vertical Turning Lathes
Horizontal Turning Lathes

Hobbing

The facility boasts of machinery capable of cutting up to 1600 mm dia, with internal hobbing applications, ranging up to a maximum of 30 module gears.

Grinding:

Gear grinding capabilities up to 1600 mm dia, ranging from 0.5 to 35 module. Our machines are also capable of internal grinding processes, with our recently acquired RAPID 1250 K Hofler Profile Form Grinding Machine.

Heat Treatment:

GGAG has an in-house heat treatment facility with furnaces capable of carrying out hardening, tempering and carburizing processes. Our furnaces are equipped to handle components up to 1200 mm in diameter and 1600 mm in length.

Forging Division

GGAG has diversified by manufacturing forgings through a newly integrated and assembled unit, dedicated to producing forged components ranging from 10-80 kg in weight. Our experience in the gear manufacturing industry allows us to produce forgings with additional finishing processes, while also ensuring shorter lead times for gears & pinions.

Furnaces

In its forging unit, GGAG has dedicated oil fired furnaces and heat treatment furnaces with capacities ranging up to 500 kg/hour.

Metallurgical Laboratory

  • Adequate means to check chemical composition of materials using a weight analysis method
  • Metallurgical microscope with camera to check the micro-structure of materials
  • Jomminy test apparatus to check the hardness of the materials
  • Infrared thermometer (Pyrometer) to check forging temperatures
